One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Subic Manila.
Not the best place. Coz it's urban area. Also quite busy traffic. But I got dropped nearby so I didn't have much choice. On the good side, there is loads of room to stop. Good visibility. And a bit of shade from a pole.
I got supperb lucky. After 10 minutes a lorry stopped and took me all the way to Manila.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. No shade. On my way from Subic to Manila.
It looks like a great spot. An entrance to the highway. Cars are going slowly yet. An extra shoulder making loads of space to stop. But....
It's officially a highway already. You will pass a sign baning pedestrians. To make it worse there is a police booth 50 meters away. And it was manned. But I tried my luck. I'm not sure if the policeman didn't see me or didn't want to see me, be he didn't come to me. After 5 minutes a car stopped. He wanted to take me back to Olangapo bus station. In the end he agreed to take me to San Fernando. But during the ride it turned out that he was going only half way. I got passed off, coz he took me off the highway.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Burgos to Subic.
A few metres after the "Thank you for visit"arch. A good spot. Just before a bridge, but enough space to stop. Not very busy traffic. After 15 minutes I got a long ride my destination - Subic.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from to Ango.
A good spot. Loads of space to stop. Drivers coming from a bridge, can see you from above. The bad thing is no shade, so I was "frying" there. Lucky it took me only 10 minutes to get a ride to Bani.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from to Agnk.
A good spot. Loads of space to stop. No much traffic. Mostly motorbikes, few cars. Good thing about this spot was the shade.
After 5 minutes I got a ride in a back of a lorry.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Burgos to Subic.
A very good spot. Loads of space to stop and good visibility. There was very little traffic, considering it's the Philippines. A car even 1-2 minutes. After 30 minutes I got a long ride to San Filipe.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from Dagupan to Subic.
Generally not a good spot. Plenty of space to stop. But still buildings aroung. People walking. It was almost a sunset so I didn't have time to look for a better one. In 20 minutes a motorbike gave me a 15 kilometers ride. And it was the last one that day. It wasn't a successful day. Especially after Santa Cruz it went wery slowly. I did less than 200 km in the whole day. In the end it got dark and I had to take a bus to my final destination.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from Dagupan to Subic.
Generally not a good spot. Plenty of space to stop. A bit of shade. But between two curves which limited the view. Also a lot of paid traffic. But I got a ride in 20 minutes.

Generally a good spot. Plenty of space to stop. A bit of shade. Not very busy trafic. Probablyb that's why I waited over a half hour.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from Dagupan to Subic.
Generally a good spot. Enough space to stop. No buildings. Busy but slow traffic. But somehow didn't work very well. I waited almost one hour. One guy stopped saying he was going only a few kilometrs. But I decided to escape that spot and hopped on.
This day in general wasn't fast. After Santa Cruz it went wery slowly. I did less than 200 km in the whole day. In the end it got dark and I had to take a bus to my final destination.

A very good spot. Plenty of space to stop. Very good visibility. Downside is no shade.
I got a ride in 15 minutes (before two cars stopped, but were going the other way) to Santa Cruz.
After Santa Cruz it went wery slowly. I did less than 200 km in the whole day. In the end it got dark and I had to take a bus to my final destination.
I did that route once before and it went quickly.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from Dagupan to Subic.
Dagupan didn't want to finish. It was constantly an urban area. I took a bus ride to Lingayen thinking it'd help. And then I walked and walked and there were still houses.
I got tired and stopped here. Not a very good spot. Limited space to stop. Still shops around. Just before the petrol station. No shade.
And as always in the Philippines, a crap place means a quick ride.
In 2 minutes I got a ride to Alaminos.
But the rest of the day wasn't so fast. After Santa Cruz it went wery slowly. I did less than 200 km in the whole day. In the end it got dark and I had to take a bus to my final destination.

Well, it wasn't hitchhiking per se, since I was enjoying my walk through villages, towards Burgos, when I guy stopped and asked me if I needed a lift. So, since I got a lift it couldn't, right 😁

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from Laoag to Dagupan.
A pretty good spot. Good visibility, plenty of room to stop. Not too busy traffic.
I got really lucky. After 25 minutes I got a ride all the way to Dagupan. I was even dropped at the door step of my destination.

It's the second time I was using this spot. Find the description in the previous review. This time I was standing about 50 farther south to use a but of shade.
This time I was waiting a bit longer, 25 minutes, and the ride was much shorter, only to Paoay.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from Baguio to Laoag.
After very successful day, I got stuck here for over an hour. The place was decent. Loads of space to stop. Shade. After the curve, but not the worst visibility. Busy, but not hectic traffic. I don't know why it took so long. But eventually, after 70 minutes I got a ride to Laoag.

I used this spot before. Find the description in the previous post.
This time I moved 50 meters south coz that spot had shade. But less space to pull over. Nevertheless after 5 minutes I got a long ride by a small lorry.

Not much space to stop. But it had shade and good visibility. There isn't much traffic which helped.
After 10 minutes I got the ride to the main road along the coast.

The first real good spot since Baguio.
On the curve (but in this region are only curves), but with loads of space to pull over. Shade in the morning. Quiet traffic.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, very sunny day. On my way from Aritao Baguio.
A good spot. Enough place to stop. The only spot with some shade. Little traffic. Cars going slowly (a sharp curve after a bridge). The bad thing about that sopt is that, since it's the only shade place, it seems to be a popular spot for catching buses. I waited 50 minutes for a ride. That includes 20 minutes when I stepped down and waited for people to catch a bus. Eventually I go a ride to La Trinidad (a place 5 km from Baguio).

A very good spot. Loads of space to stop and good visibility. Plus the shade. I was straggling all day. This part of the Philippines wasn't good for me. Until I reached this spot. After 5 minutes I got a lift all the way to Angeles - my destination.

Generally ok spot. Enough space to pull over. Busy but not hectic traffic. Shade to hide in. But it looks this part of the Philippines is hard to hitchhike. Some people coming and asking me what I do. Offering to help get a bus or even trying to give me money. After 45 minutes I got a short ride.

It's actually the only place possible to hitchhike. Other places are too urban. Not a very good spot. Loads of paid transport blocking the other cars. So it was hard to hike. After 25 minutes I got a very short ride (1/3 way to Olangapo). And then I took a jeepney to Olangapo. Generally the Philippines is a good place to hitchhike. But the part between Subic and Olangapo it's better to take a jeepney.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. On my way from this town to a Malasiqui.
I was waiting at a bus stop (a rare sight in the Philippines) for a bus. But I decided to give it a go with my thumb up. Within 5 minutes I had a ride to Carmen Rosales bus terminal. A short but useful ride for me.
Quite busy traffic.
